Started with Harmony Housing Affordable Development, successor to Greystone Affordable Development: 2021
Carissa Rex began her career with Greystone in 2021 as a Regional Property Manager. In 2024, she expanded her role as Portfolio Director, focusing on the asset management of Harmony Housing’s portfolio. As of January 1, 2025, she transitioned to the position of Senior Portfolio Director at Harmony Housing Affordable Development, where she now oversees the post-stabilization management of approximately 30 assets across Texas.
With over 30 years of experience in property management, Carissa has spent more than 15 years as a Regional Property Manager, managing a diverse portfolio that includes conventional, tax credit, HOME, and project-based Section 8 properties in Wisconsin, Louisiana, and Texas.
Her expertise spans various areas of the industry, such as new construction lease-ups, acquisition rehabs, asset improvement strategies, due diligence, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing programs. Carissa holds multiple certifications, including Certified Asset Management Specialist (AMS), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Public Housing Manager, Certified Training Associate, and is well-versed in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program.
