A New Chapter Along Coxe Avenue

PRE-DEVELOPMENT

A new mixed-use community is planned for the Coxe Avenue corridor, creating a vibrant connection between downtown Asheville and the River Arts District.

Designed to reflect Asheville’s creative character, the development will bring together income-restricted housing, retail and commercial space, public green space, and opportunities for local art and community engagement, creating a place where people can live, work, gather, and connect.

Construction is currently anticipated to begin in Summer 2027, with residential and commercial leasing opportunities expected by the end of 2028.

The development will add approximately 200 income-restricted apartments with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom options. The mixed-used proposal also adds retail spaces alongside Coxe Avenue to further expand and support entrepreneurial initiatives.

The community is planned to include approximately 200 income-restricted residences near downtown employment, dining, entertainment, and cultural destinations.

Future housing options are expected to include:

• One-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments
• High-rise apartment residences
• Townhomes along Sawyer Street with direct street access
